"You know this stuff picks up before Christmas," Dinah pointed out, sniffing in fake disdain. "They're warming up. It's like the Oscar race! They all bring out their best weird for the lights and cameras around New Year's."
"This is true. And to be in plays." Dinah grinned. "You'll come visit, right? It's the second week of December. Pleeeease?... assuming I got the part."
"Yay! We have to go out and do something ice creamy when I'm there over Homecoming," Dinah pointed out. She was about to say Parents Weekend is coming up, then remembered Roy's issues with his foster dad.
Yeah, a far more ideal outcome would be his parent not showing up, and Roy couldn't imagine that he'd want to, anyway. "I never say no to ice cream, you know that," he said.
